Office 365 - Your Personal Information

Configure Your Personal Information in Office 365

Once you've started using Office 365, you'll probably want to update your user profile and contact information under your entry in "People". Please be aware that the data in your "People" entry is mostly pulled from the official UF Directory and that data can only be modified from myUFL.


Viewing your People entry:


From the Office 365 Web App:
  1. Click on the People link in the top-bar menu
  2. Next, click on your name under the My Contacts list.
  3. Click Edit on the righthand side of the screen
If you don't find yourself using the steps above, you can also search for yourself using the search bar above your contacts list.

This should take you to a page showing your personal information: email, work, address, phone, etc.
 This information is pulled from the UF Directory, so if you wish to change what information is available, you'll need to manage your personal information in MyUFL.

Modifying your myUFL data:

To update the personal information that's pulled from the UF Directory, you'll need to use the "Update My Directory Profile" tool in myUFL.  Here's how to get there:

  1. Login to http://my.ufl.edu from your browser.
  2. Select "Main Menu" from the top navigation bar
  3. Select "My Account" from the menu that appears
  4. Select "Update my Directory Profile" from the submenu that appears

On the "Update My Directory Profile" page, you'll want to check what "Your Directory Name" is set to. "Your Directory Name"  is the single field towards the top of the page, just before your "Working Title" and will show up as your "Name" within Office 365. 

Also, the "Working Title" field on the "Update My Directory Profile" will be displayed in Office 365 as your "Title".

If you wish to protect your personal information associated with your "Local Home Data" and "Permanent Home Data", be sure to select "Do not publish" in the "Publish Information" section at the bottom of the page.  

Be sure to click to "Submit" button at the bottom of the page after making changes to your Directory Profile in myUFL

Please note: ​Any information you publish in the "Work Data" section of your directory profile, including your cell phone number, will be visible in the directory.  If you do not wish to publish your mobile number do not enter it in the "Work Data" section.  Instead, click the "no work cell phone" check-box. Of course, be sure to hit the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page after making your change.
