Internet Explorer 9 Browser Requirements

 

Below you will find configuration settings for Internet Explorer 9. These settings provide the best user experience for the myUFL system (my.ufl.edu) and ensure all services will work as expected. This browser is supported after an upgrade to myUFL that occurred on 2/19/2012.

Disabling Popup Blocker for myUFL
  • Select the cog icon in the upper right hand corner of the IE window
  • Select 'Internet Options'
  • Select the 'Privacy' tab
  • Select the “Settings” option under “Pop-up Blocker”
  • Type *.ufl.edu into the 'Address of website to allow:' field
  • Click the 'Add' button to the left of the field and then click 'Close'

Adding UF sites as 'trusted' Step 1
  • Select the 'Privacy' tab
  • In the 'Settings' section, select the 'Sites' button
 
  • In the 'Address of website:' field enter the following address manually and select 'Allow'
  • *.ufl.edu

Adding UF sites as 'trusted' Step 2
  • Select the 'Security' tab
  • Select 'Trusted Sites'
  • Click on 'Sites'

Enabling Mixed Content
  • Select the 'Security' tab
  • In the section labeled 'Security level for this zone', select the 'Custom level..." button
  • Scroll just over half way down the available options to find 'Display mixed content' and set that to 'Enable'
  • Click on 'OK'
  • Click on 'Apply'
  • Click on 'OK'

Deleting Cache and Cookies
  • Select the cog icon in the upper right hand corner of the IE window
  • Select 'Internet Options'
  • Select the 'General' tab (default)
  • Under 'Browsing History' select the 'Settings' button
 
  • Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages:", select 'Every time I visit the webpage'
 
  • Click OK
  • Under 'Browsing history' select the 'Delete' button
  • In the 'Delete Browsing History' menu, make sure all boxes but the top one are checked as shown below
  • Make sure that you UNCHECK the option that reads 'Preserve Favorites website data'
  • Select the 'Delete' button
  • Close then re-open the browser
Then please be sure to close every window of Internet Explorer (in order to completely reset the browser). Open a new session and then please try the myUFL function again.
