How to Write an Article
Take a short course on how
work with wiki pages
.
Search the subject to make sure there isn’t already a similar existing article.
Make sure you create a title with key words, so it can be linked to and found easily.
Start your article with a clear and simple description of the subject.
Try to make your article understandable to both experts and non-experts.
Adding links and other sources to the other articles can help add more meaning to the subject matter.
Your wiki should be neutral and unbiased.
It should of an appropriate length. Long enough to provide sufficient information on the subject without including unnecessary detail. Be as brief, yet thorough as possible!
Also make sure your information is well-documented – that all facts and opinions are cited from reputable sources.
Don’t use abbreviations, as non-experts may be unaware of what something means.
Follow standard writing conventions, including correct grammar, consistent verb tense, punctuation, and spelling.
It is best that your wiki includes informative, relative images that add to a reader’s understanding of the text.
Proofread your article to make sure it is clear and precise with no errors.
