How Do I Setup VPN on my Computer?
In Firefox:
Direct your internet browser to
http://vpn.ufl.edu. Log in with your email address and password.
In Firefox, AnyConnect will attempt to detect Java. If detected click 'Download'. Otherwise select the 'AnyConnect VPN' link to manually download.
A User Account Control popup menu will appear asking if you would like to install '
anyconnect-win
-xx-web-deploy.msi'. Select 'Save'. (This will only appear for Windows).
The VPN client will install and automatically start a new VPN session. Once you see 'Connection Established' the process is complete.
In Internet Explorer:
Direct your internet browser to
http://vpn.ufl.edu
Within Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security
Click on the 'Trusted Sites' green checkbox
Click on the 'Sites' button. A new window will pop up. Make sure https://vpn.ufl.edu is typed in the box and click 'Add' then click 'Close'.
Back on the Internet Options window, with 'Trusted Sites' still selected, click on the 'Custom Level' button.
In the new window that pops up, scroll down to Active X Controls and Plug-ins and make sure 'Automatic prompting for Active X controls' is enabled.
Click 'OK'
Click 'OK' in the Internet Options window
Click the 'Refresh button' just to the left of the red X in the address bar. If you do not click refresh, you will get a warning about cookies not being enabled.
Login with your GatorLink email address and password.
If Java is installed and up to date, a message will pop up asking "do you want to run this application?". Click on 'Run'.
You will get a 'User Account Control' popup asking "Allow Access to the following application from this web site?". Select 'Allow'. The VPN client will install and automatically start a new VPN session. Once you see 'Connection Established' the process is complete.
